Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Australian Labradoodle?

The Australian Labradoodle doesn’t even have any Australian in him! The name simply comes from where they originated.
They were bred to be the world’s first allergen friendly guide dog, for visually impaired families who were allergic to dogs by the Australian Guide Dog Services.
An Australian Labradoodle is a multi generational Labradoodle that originated from Australia bred specifically for therapy work and companionship. Despite the name this breed does not contain an Australian Shepherd. Several generations ago they infused a few other breeds (spaniels) to improve size, coat, health, and temperament; and have since been bred those dogs together to create this purebred multi generational Australian Labradoodle  it seems like a mouthful and a bit confusing with the name but all of our dogs' lineage traces back to the two original breeders in Australia.

How do you raise your puppies?

We raise our puppies with the Puppy Culture program. This starts when they are 3 days old with (ENS) Early Neurological Stimulation and continues for the entire 8-9 weeks the puppies are with us. Puppy Culture includes crate training, clicker training, beginnings of potty training, noise and touch desensitization, and many other confidence builders. Our puppies start going potty on real grass, by 6 weeks of age puppies are going outside at least 3 times a day. By 8 weeks old puppies are going outside every 2 hours and are sleeping in their own crates. We rarely have potty accidents when kept on a strict schedule. Puppies know outside = potty. We start leash training at 8 weeks old as well as teaching "sit" for attention. Our goal is to send you home with a well rounded, happy, and confident puppy.

Should I expect a "perfect" puppy?
I am sure you already know the answer to this question, but no! Our puppies are just that... puppies. They will still get into mischief, nibble on hands, potty on the floor, and test boundaries. I do everything I can to give them the best start and a solid foundation but your training, time, and commitment is needed to grow your dog into what you want. All of our training and direction are tools to help you raise the best dog you can. We highly recommend group puppy classes, beginner classes, and advanced classes. Finding a positive reinforcement trainer is going to help continue the training that we have already started. We have partnered with Baxter & Bella. They are a wonderful online/live resource to help guide you and your puppy to training success! Save 25% on their one time lifetime membership fee with our code DELANO

How much are your puppies and what is the process?

Our puppies are 3250$ total which includes 7% FL sales tax, on a spay/neuter/non breeding agreement. Our reservation fee is a non-refundable $250 and that will hold a spot on the litter of your choice. We accept 5 reservations on each litter prior to being born and will start a waiting list (I do not hold reservations for waiting list spots) for any additional puppies after they're born. First payment due at birth, final payment is due when puppies are 6 weeks of age. Reservation lists fill fast and are normally fully booked 6-8 months in advanced, our spots cannot be reserved until the fee has been received by us. Since we receive so many inquiries we cannot hold spaces without a paid reservation fee.

What is the difference between being on a reservation list vs a waiting list?

We only accept 5 reservations per litter prior to the puppies being born, the rest of the families that are interested in that particular litter join our waiting list. Since our girls tend to have larger litters (average is 7-10) we then can move to the waiting list. Since many families are on multiple waiting lists, they tend to move rather quickly when we have larger litters. We often have puppies go to families on our waiting lists so know there is a decent chance at getting a puppy if you're on the waiting list.

How can I get my puppy if I live in another state?

We will not ship our puppies cargo. We work very hard to ensure their confidence, adaptability, and easygoing nature and would hate to break that trust and confidence that our puppies have gained in the last 8-9 weeks. You can come to our home for puppy pick up or we can meet you at one of our two central Florida airports in Orlando, FL (MCO) or Sanford/Orlando (SFB) for a 100$ delivery fee. We will get puppy used to a soft sided airline carrier prior to going home, this will not only make it easier for you, but it ensures as little stress as possible to puppy. We try to be as flexible as we can with helping you get your new family member.

What is your selection process?

We have a happy medium with our selection process. We match puppies based on temperament above all. Temperament testing takes place when puppies are 7-7 1/2 weeks old. We will take your preferences into consideration (size, color, gender) but cannot guarantee we will have your exact match every time. I would never want to place the most energetic puppy in the litter with a family that wants to do therapy work, or a more reserved puppy with a family that wants a running companion. Personality is very important, so as much as you have preferences, we can work together to find the best match for your family. Normally I will give you 1-2 puppies that I think would be a good match for you. If for some reason I don't think one is a good match, I am happy to transfer your deposit onto the next available litter. We put as much time and consideration for the first family on our lists as we do the last family.

What happens if you don't have enough puppies for your reservation list?
Unfortunately, this can happen on occasion and it's something we cannot avoid. We are more than happy to transfer your deposit to the next available litter but this is also one instance I will refund your deposit if you would prefer.

Where are you located?

We live outside of Orlando on 3 beautiful acres.
The two closest airports to us are Orlando MCO & Orlando Sanford SFB

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes, Your puppy will have a two year health guarantee for hip dysplasia and all of the genetic diseases that we have tested for.

How big is a medium/standard dog?

Medium range: Height: over 18 but under 22 inches at wither, typically 30-45 lbs.
Standard range: Height: over 22 inches at wither, typically 50 or more lbs.
(height is measured from the floor to the top of the shoulder)

How do you know the size a puppy will be at maturity?

To get an estimated adult weight we add the weight of both parents and divide by 2. Many puppies generally end up within ten pounds of that calculation. For example: If mom weighs 40 and Dad weighs 60, 40+60=100 pounds. 100/2=50 so the dogs from this litter would weigh 45-55 pounds. The biggest pups of the litter will tend toward the high end and the smallest toward the small end of the range.

What does my puppy come home with?
